A Day at the Frist
April 7, 2008The kids and I spent a day at the Frist Center in Nashville last month. I’m just now getting around to blogging about it. Here you can see Will working on his sculpting abilities.
And here he is posing with his creation.
Tobi took her friend Ellen with her. They spent most of the day trying to avoid being with Will and I, so I didn’t get any pictures of her while we were in the museum. We did stop long enough to get this picture as we were leaving.
It was a great day even if it was way too crowded to leisurely enjoy the artwork from Monet to Dali. Will enjoyed all the fun art activities that they had planned for kids, and Tobi enjoyed spending the day with her friend Ellen. We met Beth and her niece Haley there, but it was so crowded it was difficult to really enjoy each other’s company. Even with the huge crowd, we enjoyed ourselves. I’m sure we will make another trip soon, but it won’t be on a Family Day.
Still Counting Down
October 23, 2007I’m still counting down to New York City day. I think it is 22 days away. Sadly, it has been a few days since I posted a video. Since Mom told me about Godtube the other day, I went over there to find a New York video to post for today’s countdown. This video isn’t really New York, but it did remind me of Ruth’s WOW post over at TwoWritingTeachers. The description of this video says,
“Photographer John-Marc Grob, invites you to some wonderful Black & Whites pictures. Moment In Time, is for everyone who isn’t stopping and seeing the beauty God has created. Enjoy and God Bless.”
Which made me think of Ruth’s reminder to
“notice the wow too — and jot it down in your writer’s notebook. You’ll be glad you did.”
If you watch the video, you will see that it does actually have a bit of NYC in it. There is a picture of the Flatiron Building which I forgot to tell my friends is a must see for me. All the pictures in the video are beautiful and do serve as a great reminder to look for the WOW in the world. I have a feeling the WOWs of NYC are going to be superwows.
Okay, so I’ve tried and tried to figure out how to get this video on here. I just found the fine print that lists the blogs that are compatible with Godtube. WordPress is not one of them. You will have to go over to Godtube.com to check out the video. The title of the video is Moment In Time.
